Wurstsalon ♥ PIEMONT
Piemonte is one of the 20 regions of Italy, which has an area of 25399 km² and a population of about 4.4 million. The capital is Turin, the local dialect is Piedmontese. It was an initial springboard for Italy’s unification in 1859-1861, following earlier unsuccessful wars against the Austrian Empire in 1820-1821 and 1848-1849. This process is sometimes referred to as Piedmontisation.
Oh, wrong entry – excuses moi.

Piemont is a project initiated by the Hamburg based producers Frederic Möring-Sack and Christian de Jonquieres, whose numerous releases and remixes under their alias Phunklarique & Dejonka have already gained a huge fan base over the past few years, producing so called Minimal Tech on the highest possible level. Furhtermore they manage their own label Suchtreflex since 2005 and in the meantime released three 12-inches on German Techno label Hi Freaks. Also signed to My Best Friend (MBF), a sublabel of Traum Schallplatten, their debut album “Strange World Beyond” is set to be released on January 19th 2009.
Their single “Carbonat” can be considered as their breakthrough, beeing charted and droped by top class Djs such as Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Oliver Koletzki & Monika Kruse, entering the German Club Charts at position 13 in May 2007.

Piemont appeared in Austria for the first time in summer 2008 at the Urban Art Forms Festival, now they’ll perform a live and DJ set at the New Year’s Eve Wurstsalon. Thank god, you stayed in Vienna this year, ha? The two Germans are gonna headline the Minimal-Tech floor, gratefully they took some time to participate in a short wordrap:
