Wurstsalon ♥ FRÖHLICH

After Hamburg based duo Piemont and Zürich domiciled Ponybomb, the last international act playing at 2008’s last Wurstsalon I wanna introduce to you, is quite an unknown one in terms of looking at his name with Viennese glasses on.

It all began in Berlin 1997, when clubs like WMF, Casino, Tresor or Maria got weekly filled by Techno nerds around the world and Johannes Fröhlich found his love for electronic music. The typical story: Trying to spin some vinyls at a good friend, the big passion was awakened, a few months afterwards the own decks were bought and the game could start.

While studying in Magdeburg he was sporadicaly playing in smaller Berlin located clubs like Betriebsfeier or the Villa Caprice, but since two years Fröhlich is again living in Germany’s capital and on the go through the night life of Europe’s party paradise #1.

Having done his work in nearly all clubs in Berlin (“except Berghain, Watergate & Weekend”), you’re nowadays often able to see him behind the decks in locations like the Arena Club, Bar25 or at the Salon Zur Wilden Renate, where he also holds a residency. Musically, Johannes Fröhlich describes himself as “being native in the House corner, at best with a stunning bass, a fine groove for the legs and some melodies for the head”.

A short wordrap with the Berlin based vinyl whiz, who is gonna perform a 6-hour-set at the New Year’s Eve Wurstsalon:

Personal request: Download AND listen to his three-parted liveset “Morgens auf dem Brötchen Afterhour”, which is to be found on Fröhlich’s Myspace – I haven’t heard such an incredible recording for ages. Really looking forward to his gig on Dec 31st, if he can tie his WS performance up to older downloadable sets, we better prepare for a massive Techno enchantment in a class of its own.

Only one day to go till the New Year’s Eve Wurstsalon at some unknown place in Vienna is gonna be staged.

More infos to the whole happening HERE.
