Mix of the Week: Butane (Alphahouse / Berlin)

Owner of Alphahouse Records, accomplished producer, and jet setting DJ, Butane (Andrew Rasse) hails from the Midwestern United States, the birthplace of many great electronic music acts. His infamous Alphahouse monthly party put St. Louis on the current worldwide techno map, and his record label is regarded as one of the premier left-field techno/house labels in North America.
As a music producer, his tracks have been featured on some of the world’s most forward-thinking underground labels. With over 12 EP’s and two albums to his credit, he has maintained a steady output of high quality music, all while touring to much acclaim. Licensing original tracks to mix compilations such as Matthew Dear’s Fabric mix, Luciano’s HiFi SciFi on Soma, and Damian Lazarus’ Get Lost mix, it’s obvious that his peers in the industry also hold his music in high regard. And regularly booked at all the top clubs in Europe, America, Asia, and beyond, he makes a strong case for himself as one of the true stars in this music scene.
