Amsterdam Fashion Week Spring Summer 2010

Only a few days before the kick off at Heineken in the City will happen. The Amsterdam Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 (22nd of July till 26th of July 2009) will show the new talents and the established designer, including a business programme to close the line with the vision of AIFW to close the gap between creativity and commerce.

On the Runway

The Fortis Bank Openingssoiree is to be held the 22nd of July. This evening focuses on talent: ‘from
beginning designer to entrepreneurship’ with a combined show with three talents: Elsien Gringhuis,
NON by KIM and Mexx by Eva and Delia and a show of the Ilja Visser Group. The following shows are
planned during the week at the official programme: Badgley Mischka, INDIVIDUALS by AMFI, Cold
Method, Lichting 2009 supported by G-Star Raw, Frans Molenaar Prijs 2009, Madé, Blue Blood,
SuperTrash, LEW, Monique Collignon, Claes Iversen, E@D by Eva and Delia, Ontfront, Hyun Yeu,
Replay and ‘A Tribute to Orange Babies’ by House of Orange.

At the Panels

A business programme is brought in addition to the show programme of AIFW to close the identified
gap between creativity and commerce. This programme is filled with interesting components, like
the pitch meeting at Friday 24th of July, an initiative from AIFW and Syntens. Next to that AIFW is
organizing in collaboration with Fortis Bank Nederland a masterclass for beginning talented
designers. The Grand Seigneur will be handed out by Modint at the Westergasfabriek. This fashion
award is to identify persons, enterprises or establishments whom by action, presentation and
personality have contributed to a better understanding of fashion and clothing.

Downtown

Besides the professional part, which is only accessible on invitation, there is also a big public
programme during AIFW. 80 locations, like: shops, galleries, clubs, etc. are taking part of Fashion
Week DOWNTOWN. There are lots of events to see and to do. Expositions, shows, funky show
windows and parties. The Fashion Week DOWNTOWN programme is taking place from the 18th of
July till 26th of July. The final public programme will be announced the 6th of July at
www.aifwdowntown.com.
